金屬表面有如同人肌膚般的毛孔，經常撫摸愛護它，表面便可維持亮澤。黃銅表面逐漸氧化後，光澤度降低則養成一種復古古典的樣貌，若希望恢復光亮，可於五金行購買銅油擦拭，並以中性清潔劑洗淨擦乾即可。若銀久置氧化變黑，用拭銀布擦拭表面即可。
